Film Poster Research

This is the poster for the film Obsessed.
There are several things I like about this poster. Firstly, I like the way the word "OBSESSED" stretches across the middle of the poster, and that the colours invert depending of the colour of the background. The border around the poster is striking, bringing the whole poster together- it's quite unusual for film posters to have a thick border because usually they just have an image stretching right to the edge. The looks on the faces of the women suggest certain things about there characters: the woman in the red dress, stood away from the couple has a vindictive look, her head raised suggesting an air of confidence, where as the woman stood in the foreground looks suspicious and defensive. Both of these women are looking towards each other, which is to represent the tension between the two, and the mutual hatred we discover in the film. The man, although stood with his wife, is looking away from the pair of them, as he doesn't want the hatred to go on. He also looks worried, which could suggest that he is the source of the women's' feud.  The 'small print' that gives the details of the production company, director etc. is in a light grey colour that fades into the background when the poster is glanced at. The only part of this that stands out is the month in which the film is released, which one of the main reasons of having the poster.
